Fire Alarm – The appearance of a dense volume of smoke rising above the house tops in the northwestern part of the city, about three o’clock yesterday afternoon, caused the alarm bells to ring and the firemen to turn out. After a run of a few squares, however, it was ascertained that the alarm proceeded from a pile of burning brush, when the firemen returned to their quarters and the excitement soon subsided.
