From the Richmond Whig, 6/6/1865
A GREAT PUBLIC WANT just now is a city passenger railroad, from the St. Charles Hotel, Main street, to Rocketts. A large amount of business is now transacted at the wharves, and the construction of a railroad between the points indicated, with a few good cars upon them, would prove a great convenience. The road could be built in a week if some enterprising parties would take hold of the matter, and bring on the rails and sills without delay. We believe the investment would pay.
