From the Richmond Whig, 4/12/1865
A REMARKABLE CASE. - Mr. J. G. Conner, of Baltimore, was a prisoner in Castle Thunder up to within a week of the evacuation. Eight long months he spent in that gloomy dungeon. The charges against him were that of being a spy for the Union, and inimical to the government of the Confederate States. Mr. Conner found himself at liberty in the turmoil and excitement of the evacuation, and having displayed his true colors, again, is engaged in effecting some arrests which are very important to the government, and which no other man could have brought about.
