THE HOUSE NUMBERING SCHEME. – We understand that the committee of the City Council appointed to consider the applications of several parties for the contract for numbering the houses of the city, have recommended the application of Messrs. H. W. Starke and D. S. Mills, their style of number, cheapness of plan, and durability seeming to combine several superior advantages over the others offered. It only remains for the Council to ratify the recommendation to enable the contractors to go forward in the work.
