REMAINS OF GENERAL STARKE. – The remains of General William E. Starke, who fell at the battle of Sharpsburg, Maryland, on Wednesday last, reached the city last evening. They were met at the Central depot by a detachment of the State Guard accompanied by a band of music, and escorted to the Capitol, where they were laid in state. General Starke was a native of Virginia, but latterly resided in New Orleans. He owned a handsome estate in Mississippi. – His career has been as spotless in civil, as it has been modest and meritorious in military life.
