Fire.— The alarm of fire about three o'clock yesterday was caused by the burning of an old brick building about a half mile beyond Chimborazo Hospital, which was formerly used by Messrs Jones, Jacobs A Co. as a distillery. It was doubtless the work of an incendiary, though a report was In circulation late in the afternoon that some parties engaged in one of the fortifications nearest the city, while experimenting with cannon, accidentally fired a. shell in the direction of the building, which exploded and set the building on fire.
