THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN.

The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held yesterday evening, the President, Judge John A. Meredith, in the chair, and present the following other members: Messrs. Bass, Beall, Kellam, Forrester, Lipscomb, Ordway, Smith, Sangenburg, Tanner, Todd, Vandervall, Wagner, and Williams.

…THE PUBLIC PARKS.

Mr. Tanner moved to take up the Common Council resolution in relation to appropriating about $1,000 each for Monroe and Marshall Parks.
Mr. Williams hoped Mr. Tanner would withdraw the motion.
Mr. Tanner declined.
Mr. Williams then addressed the Board in opposition to taking up the resolution, as he believed it would prejudice the proposed acquisition of Chimborazo.
Mr. Lipscomb insisted that it would be unwise to take up the resolution now. He wanted the Chimborazo matter first disposed of, and thought it should be, in justice to the large number of tax-payers who have signed the petition.
