THE BELLE ISLE NATIONAL CEMETERY. – Colonel J. M. Moore, Assistant Quartermaster, has received a report from Colonel G. B. Cadwallader, who was directed to inspect the Belle Isle, Virginia, in order to ascertain the number of Union soldiers there buried, and the prospects for the commencement of a “Soldiers’ National Cemetery.” He represents that a tract about one hundred yard square has been set apart on the Isle, enclosed with a substantial board fence, which contains one hundred and fifty bodies of Union dead.
