Shooting Affray. – A man named John Murphy was taken in custody yesterday evening by Officer Crone, of the city police, and lodged in the cage, charged with feloniously shooting and wounding Martin Callaban. The shooting occurred on the corner immediately west of the area of the Old Market, and was occasioned by some trivial quarrel between the two men the nature of which did not transpire. The shot took effect in the mouth of Callaban, knocking out one or two of his teeth. The wound bled profusely. Immediately after discharging his pistol Murphy ran off up 17th street, but was pursued, and, after some considerable search, secured in a house.
