Libby Prison. – Nine Yankees were brought to this prison on yesterday from North Carolina – Their names are B. H. Goldsmith, John Whisley, A. Starr, and Daniel Starr, belonging to the Sutler’s Department of the Yankee army; Samuel Merdit and James Keyes, seamen aboard the ship Underwriter, and W. W. Williams and John Jackson, privates of co. B, 1st N. Y. cavalry, and W. G. Bouge, seaman aboard the steamer Commodore Perry. The three last deserted from the Yankees. Three of the above who were captured were taken near Chowan river, North Carolina, January 16th. Yesterday there were in that prison, six Yankee prisoners of war, 113 citizen
