From the Richmond Dispatch, 6/13/1862, p. 2, c. 4

Caught. – Two men were arrested by General Winder's detectives yesterday, for distilling liquor, and carried before one of the Assistant Provost Marshals and lodged in Castle Godwin. Afterwards an examination was made of the premises on which they proposed to do business, and a still was found erected ready for making liquor. Whether the parties had succeeded in making any of their drinking fluid before being discovered we could not learn, but samples of their stuff examined indicated the unmistakable presence of alcohol. On inquiry into the guilt of the parties Captain Alexander bailed one of them in $1,000 to appear for trial. The other remained in durance vile.
