Belle Island has now the appearance of a military camp, a large number of the Yankee prisoners being confined there. They are no doubt better satisfied than they would be if placed in houses, as they have good tents, plenty of water, and a large space to ramble about. There is a strong guard over them, to prevent their escape, if they wished to do so.
