From the Richmond Sentinel, 4/14/1864

Castle Thunder. – This establishment furnished no very interesting item yesterday. A free negro was received who had been captured attempting to get to the Yankee lines. His name was Jim Lane.

Israel Laprad, of the 52d Virginia, was received. He has just been sentenced by court martial to six months labor for desertion.

Fifty eight convicts were sent off to the Penitentiary at Salisbury, N. C.
