THAT BIG BLACK DOG. - People well acquainted with the coming and going of the big black dog, that, during the reign of the several commandants, used to keep watch and ward over the prisoners at Castle Thunder, have been led to inquire what has become of him since the evacuation, he not having been seen. We incline to the opinion that his dogship evacuated with the rest of the Castle officials and joined Jeff. Davis to assist in the hunt after the Trans-Mississippi trail.
