War College Officers Tour Battlefields
In preparation for a tour of Virginia battlefields June 9-21, seven officers from the Army War College yesterday toured the fighting grounds of the War Between the States around Richmond. The inspection was made to familiarize the lecturers with the subjects to be presented in June.
Officers were Lieutenant-Colonel C. W. Thomas Jr., War College; Major Phillip E. Brown and Major Earl C. Ewort [Ewart], who are studying the Peninsula campaign; Major Henry A. Barber and Major Homer Case, the Virginia campaign of 1864; and Lieutenant Colonel Donald A. Dividson and Edward H. Brooks, the operation around Petersburg and Appomattox. They were accompanied by Dr. Douglas S. Freeman.
