The history of the Tredegar Iron Works is so intimately a part of the history of Richmond that any misfortune overtaking that industry concerns and grieves all Richmond. The $200,000 fire of Tuesday night will only delay the filling of pressing orders for the products of the iron and steel works, a delay that will work hardships, it is true, but the damage will soon be made good, and the old Tredegar establishment will go right along as of yore and continue to be what it has been for three quarters of a century, one of Richmond’s leading industries.
