THIRTY-FIVE STITCHES TO SAVE NEGRO’S FINGERS

Two fingers were torn from the right hand of Lancaster James, colored, of 207 East Leigh Street, early yesterday morning when they were caught in machinery at the plant of the Tredegar Iron Works, where he was employed. The fingers were set by Dr. Hulcher, of the City Hospital, and it was necessary for him to take thirty-five stitches.
