Killed at the Tredegar Iron Works.

Thomas Viar, a young white man who lived in Manchester, met with a fatal accident at the Tredegar Iron Works Tuesday 1st inst.

At the dinner hour at the big works the young man went into a closet where his coat was hanging. He reached for the garment and a pipe fell down. Viar stooped over to pick up the pipe and was caught in a tumbling machine and his throat was cut to the spinal column.

The ambulance was summoned, but when the surgeon arrived Viar was dead, and Coroner Taylor soon after viewed the remains, deemed an inquest unnecessary and turned the body over to relatives.
