POSTOFFICE STATISTICS. Postmaster Van Lew, of Richmond, transmits to the general postoffice department the following report of the operations of the free delivery system here for the month of September, as follows: Mail letters delivered 93,621, local letters delivered 6,368, postal cards delivered 8,497, newspapers delivered 31,701, letters collected 56,120, postal cards collected 5,136. Last year in September 100,567 mail letters were delivered and 52,678 letters collected.
