THE BALLARD HOUSE REOPENED. – Is the heading of an advertisement in another column, to which it gives us pleasure to direct the attention of the public, knowing that everything will be done by the proprietors to give satisfaction to their guests and to maintain the world-wide reputation of the house. The furniture and surroundings we have noticed before, and it will indeed be a fastidious taste which they do not please.
Mr. Maine, the leading proprietor, was for twelve years connected with the old St. Charles Hotel in New Orleans, and any one who has ever visited that renowned establishment must come to the conclusion that he certainly is capable of keeping a hotel and a first-class one.
