OBITUARY.
Died, at her residence in New Kent county, on the 26th of July, Mrs. ELIZABETH LIBBY, consort of Captain Luther Libby, and eldest daughter of the late Joshua Crump, of this city, in the forty-ninth year of her age.
This sad announcement will cause deep sorrow and gloom in many a family, who knew the deceased lady. Mrs. Libby had suffered greatly during the late war, which she bore with fortitude and Christian resignation, and had just collected her little family again around her, with the hope of a future life of peace and happiness; but, alas, death claimed her, and she now sleeps the sleep that knows no waking. Mrs. L. was early connected with the church, and lived the life of a Christian. She was a kind and affectionate wife; a devoted mother; an indulgent and gentle mistress, and a friend of all in distress. In dropping a tear over her remains, we feel confident she is now an angel in Heaven, and at peace with her Redeemer. To the numerous relatives and friends of the family we offer our sincere condolence and sympathy.
