ELIZA L. VAN LEW.

Richmond, Va., May 8 (Special). – Miss Eliza L. Van Lew died here to-night. She was a niece of Miss Lizzie Van Lew, who was a Union spy during the war, and kept General Grant constantly advised of the plans and movements of the Confederates. The elder Miss Van Lew, who was afterward made postmistress of Richmond, also aided many Union prisoners in escaping from Libby Prison
