Military Items.
A private letter received in Bridgeport from a member of Co. D, First Connecticut Heavy Artillery, at Fort Darling, James river, written on Thursday last, says that it was expected the regiment would start for Washington overland on Saturday, and that the march would occupy from seven to ten days. The general opinion was that they would then be sent home to Hartford to be mustered out.
