The Gallego Mills. – Workmen commenced yesterday to take down the walls of the “new mill” on canal street. Scaffolding was erected in the angle between the lofty wall nearest the “corn mill,” over the uninjured water-wheel, reaching to the top of the brick pile, and from the summit of this erection, the work of taking down the wall, brick by brick, was begun yesterday forenoon. In thirty days, it is expected, scarcely a vestige of the ruins will be left above the level of canal street. The repairs to the corn mill are progressing rapidly, and by the middle of September grinding will be resumed.
