THE STATE FLAG. – It is stated in the Boston Journal that among the numerous relics of the Confederate Government, taken possession of by Maj. Atherton H. Stevens, Jr., immediately upon his entry into Richmond with forty-eight men on the morning of the 3d ult., was a State flag four yards in length and of proportionate width, in the centre of which is a circular piece of coarse cotton duck or canvass, ten feet in diameter, on which is painted the Virginia Coat of Arms, the figure being life size. This relic was found tied to the halyards of the flag-staff on the State Capitol, and secured by Major Stevens, and placed in charge of one of his orderlies.
