Mayor's Court. - The usual amount of trifling business was done in this Court on Saturday:
John J. Lindsey was charged with obtaining $1,200 from Brown, Deane & Co., under false pretenses. Mr. Deane stated that Lindsey, representing himself as the Purveyor of Chimborazo hospital, had bought from him a large quantity of butter and potatoes, but the bill for the same having been sent to Dr. McCaw, who has charge of the hospital, he denied that Lindsey had any authority to make purchases for the hospital. Lindsey, desiring to summon more witnesses, the case was continued, and he was admitted to bail.

Wm. F. Corkley, of the Spotswood Hotel, was charged with selling whiskey to be drank in his bar-room. The case was dismissed, the witness not appearing.
