From the Richmond Examiner, 7/11/1863
THE SEABROOK RECEIVING HOSPITAL is now emptied entirely of wounded and sick soldiers, except such as are received during the night and sent off during the day, and the hospital is in excellent condition to accommodate the wounded expected from the battles in Pennsylvania and Maryland. – The cots are sufficient in number to accommodate six or nine hundred patients, and the wards are in charge of a very competent corps of surgeons and assistants. Every patient upon reception, if his condition will admit of it, is put through a course of purification in a large apartment, provided with a steam and shower bath. The condition of every department of this hospital is perfect, and reflects credit upon those in charge.
