ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE FROM CASTLE LIGHTNING. – A soldier named Charles Bernard, incarcerated in Castle Lightning, attempting to escape from his imprisonment, on yesterday, by means of a rope from one of the third story windows, fell to the ground, and was picked up in a dying condition. He was imprisoned upon charges of desertion and forgery.
