GARROTING BY DAYLIGHT. – Yesterday afternoon, about 5 o'clock, a man, who seemed to be inebriated, was followed by a garroting party down into the Valley, by way of the steps leading from Broad street, near the Central Depot, and when at the bottom of the steps, "swamped" him, and relieved him of all the valuables in his possession. The affair was witnessed by several gentlemen, who could render no assistance, the outrage being committed with such stupidity and address.
