Resignation and Appointment. – John M Strother, Chief Clerk of the Treasury Department, has resigned that position and accepted an appointment in the Commissary General’s office, with the rank of Captain of cavalry. It is said that Mr. Hall, a clerk in the Treasury Department, has been appointed to the office which has been vacated by Mr. Strother.
