Negro Drivers. – It would be well for the Government to pay strict attention to the practices of negro cartmen who are employed in hauling wood to the camps. The yard at the corner of 21st and Dock streets has become a regular nuisance, through the noisy demonstrations of the drivers who assemble there of a morning, and are allowed to wait two or three hours for some one to come and deliver the fuel. We hear, also, that they are in the habit of disposing of a portion of their loads to procure whiskey. Since some persons are base enough to countenance such a traffic, the authorities ought to pay attention to the matter.
