THE CAMP GRANT MURDER – THE SUPPOSED MURDERER ARRESTED. – In the Dispatch of Tuesday we published an account of the finding of the body of a Federal soldier in a well on the place of Major Harvey, near Camp Grant. On Tuesday evening an inquest was held by Squire Marsh. A colored woman named Ann, living near the well, and a white soldier, who was in the house with her on Saturday night, stated that they heard noise of a scuffle and the cry of murder, and the same voice call out Norton. On this evidence Thomas Norton, who was known to have had a difficulty with deceased, was arrested yesterday and locked up in the county jail. The deceased was from New York, and at the time of his death was a drummer of the Eleventh United States regiment. The accused is a native of Ireland, and of rather unprepossessing appearance. He is a member of company G of the Eleventh regiment, and states that he is from Roxbury, Mass.
