Deserters from the Yankee Army. – Yesterday eight deserters from the Yankee Army of the Potomac were received at Castle Thunder from Gordonsville. Four belonged to company C, 1st battalion Virginia (Abolition) cavalry, and four to the 146th regiment New York volunteers. They took French leave of the Yankee army about the time Hooker commenced crossing the Rappahannock. In the case of the Virginia soldiers, their leaving may be ascribed to shame at being found in bad company. The New York soldiers left because they were tired of the war.
