From the Richmond Dispatch, 4/10/1863, p. 1, c. 4
The Execution To-Day – Up to 9 o’clock last night no additional respite had been granted Capt. A. O. Webster, condemned to be hung to-day for breaking his parole of honor. As all needful preparation had been made yesterday, the execution will doubtless come off between 8 and 2 o’clock today, at Camp Lee. The prisoner, yesterday, when not occupied in conversing with the several ministers who asked on him, was busily engaged reading the Bible. He will have to be carried to the ground on a litter, being unable to sit up.
