The Penitentiary. – Sundry changes have lately occurred in the personnel of the officers of this institution. The following ave lately resigned: Jno Jacobs, for 40 years deputy Superintendent; John Freeman, for 10 years overseer of the carpenter’s department and Lewis B. Jones, overseer in the shoe department. Caleb Jacob succeeded Mr. Freeman, and Mr. James Lee (formerly of Ireland, but late of Washington, D. C.,) Mr. Jones. Col. Chas. Blue, of Hampshire, is now general Superintendent, succeeding James F. Pendleton.
