HOWARD’S GORVE. – What a lovely place this is, for the country residence of some moneyed lord who had the means to ornament it properly. We have often wondered why these sixteen acres of land, so accessible to the city, and so beautifully located, were permitted to stand idle and unimproved, year after year, while all around was being improved and made to yield something to the support and comfort of mankind, but having learned within a few days past, that its owners ask only $1200 per acre for it, we shall not be astonished to see the tall pines which now encumber it, the only occupants in twenty years to come.
