Crowded. – The additions made by the Mayor yesterday, made the number of prisoners in the city jail on that day 109. The majority of the prisoners are men, but there are in confinement a goodly number of unfortunate females, who will, after the completion of the new alms-house, be sent thither, arrangements having been made there to put them to work. It is an unusual circumstance for the jail to be so full during the summer months.
