Idle Men. – The custodian of Castle Godwin and the Franklin street Guard House advertises in the papers several hundred soldiers confined for desertion, straggling, &c., which he requests may be called for by their officers, or if held for trial, be put in a position to undergo the ordeal. Regimental and company officers will no doubt find in the list the names of men of whose whereabouts they were previously uninformed. Obviously most of these men should now be with their regiments and not cooped up.
