From the Richmond Examiner, 2/2/1866, p. 3, c. 4
The Spotswood Hotel, Messrs. Corkery and Millward, proprietors, is just now enjoying a patronage not equalled by any other hotel in the city. The senior partner, Captain W. F. Corkery, has a wide reputation South as a publick caterer, while Mr. Millward is equally popular in the other section of the United States. During the past year very extensive and elaborate improvements were put upon the establishment, that enhanced the comfort of the guests and at the same time added to the popularity of the house. The old attaches, whose honest, genial, smiling faces always gave the warm welcome from the heart to the weary traveler when he arrived, have all been retained, and night and day await the pleasure of the guests at the Spotswood.
