RAID ON A CHIMBORAZO DEN. – Late on Saturday night a detachment of police, including Major Poe, Sergeant Folkes, Detectives Wood and O’Dwyer, and others, ascended the heights of Chimborazo and surprised a party of gamblers engaged in the entertaining game of “sweat.” They bagged fourteen negroes, two white men, and a good many coppers. The prisoners were locked up to await a hearing this morning. The white men arrested were the somewhat notorious Phelps brothers.
