Medical Director's Office – 213 Main St
Richmond, Oct 11th 1862
The Medical Director presents his compliments to Mrs. Clopton, and informs her that it has become necessary to close the Hospital with which she has so usefully, so beneficially, and so very creditably been associated – No more patients will therefore be admitted at this Institution.
If Mrs. Clopton will select two or more wards in any General Hospital of this City, her connection with them will be a source of much gratification to those officially or personally interested, and as the "Clopton Wards," these divisions of the Hospitals shall be known and recognized on the records of the Department.
