4/18/1864 4/2/1864;    Paid $30 for “commutation of rent of room for self for the month of March 1864 at $30 per month.” Peebles, Winder, and McCaw sign. McCaw adds, “no quarters.” [p. 5]

5/16/1864 5/2/1864;    Paid $30 for “commutation for rent of room for self for the month of April 1864 at $30 per month.” Winder and McCaw sign. McCaw adds, “no quarters.” [p. 9]

6/30/1864 6/6/1864;    Paid $30 for “commutation for rent of room for selt for the month of May 1864 @$30 per month.” Carrington, Chestney, and McCaw sign. McCaw adds, “no quarters.” [p. 11]

9/3/1864 9/1/1864;      Paid $30 for “commutation for rent of room for self for the month of August 1864.” Cunningham, Chestney, and McCaw sign. McCaw adds, “no quarters.” [p. 3]

11/4/1864 11/4/1864;  paid $80 for “rent one (1) room at Richmond Va from Sept 1st 1864 to Oct 31st 1864 being Two (2) months at $40 per month. McCaw signs and adds, “no quarters could be furnished.” [p. 13]
