PROVOST MARSHALL'S OFFICE,
RICHMOND, June 1, 1862.

CAPT. W. S. REED, President's Guard, will request all the private families to send to this office all MATTRESSES which are not in use by ladies, forthwith. By their due compliance with this order, it may prevent the necessity of their impressments.

The young men, especially, are requested to spare their beds for a few days for the benefit of the gallant soldiers who have been wounded in the glorious cause of the South.
