The Cause. – We are requested by Miss Van Lew, to state that the resignation of William H. Johnson, one of the city letter carriers, was owing to ill-health, and that he possessed her confidence in the highest degree, in his position. The notice of his resignation which appeared in our paper of Saturday, was made at the request of Johnson himself.
