Robberies. – On Friday night last one of the freight cars of the Danville railroad, while at the depot, on the Manchester side of the river, was broken into and robbed of a large lot of coffee. Robberies on this road are of frequent occurrence, and scarcely a night passes that one is not committed.
On Saturday night a soldier who had been assigned quarters at the “Soldiers’ Home” on Seventh and Cary streets, was robbed of a picket-book containing four hundred dollars, his furlough, transportation papers, and other valuable (to him) documents. Search was made among the occupants of the building, but the lost property was not found.
