From the Richmond Dispatch, 10/2/1862, p. 2, c. 2

Fight.—The vicinity of 17th and Main streets was considerably disturbed, yesterday, about 11 o'clock, by a fight between two sailors belonging to one of the gunboats in the Dock. The altercation drew together an immense crowd, who so hedged in the combatants that they were unable to do each other any harm. The anger of the parties, and their belligerent disposition was aided, as was evident, by numerous potations of indifferent whiskey. Just as the fight was about to culminate in the exhaustion of both parties, the Provost Guard from Castle Thunder appeared and marched both parties off as disturbers of the peace.
