From the Richmond Dispatch, 7/1/1862

The Seaman's Bethel, a small Church edifice, located on 20th, between Cary and Main streets, has been appropriated by the Government as a hospital for Yankee soldiers afflicted with gangrene. There is no room for them at the regular prison hospital of the Confederate States. Persons afflicted with the disease in question do not need much watching. A simple guard to see that the nurses do their duty is all that will be required.
