DIED

On the 3d day of May, at Howard’s Grove Hospital, Private A C MOUNTCASTLE, only son of Mr Christian Mountcastle, of Charles City, in the 25th year of his age. He was a member of company E, Capt Blake, 10th Battalion Va Vols, heavy artillery. He was universally beloved by his comrades, and esteemed by all his numerous friends; and although the cold hand of death laid him low far from his relatives, they may rest assured that he was cared for by many who loved him and appreciated his moral and manly virtues.            [*] J N S.
