Sir;

          You are informed of the enclosed reapportionment of the Hospitals among the States and requested to cooperate as far as possible in its practicable execution.

          The sick & wounded will be sent to the Hospitals indicated for their respective States when not injurious to themselves or greatly inconvenient to the service, in which case they will be sent to those indicated as Confederate Hospitals on account of their proximity to the Receiving & Distributing Hospital. Only in case of the receipt of a large number of wounded within a short period will this arrangement be departed from. The "Wayside Hospital" is for the reception of sick & wounded soldiers on furlough or honorably discharged who are temporarily detained in the city, and will be under the same regulations as other Hospitals.
