From the Richmond Whig, 1/12/1866, p. 3, c. 1
TO BE MUSTERED OUT. – The Twentieth New York and Twenty-Fourth Massachusetts are to be immediately mustered out of service. An order to that effect has been promulgated by the military authorities here. Both have been on duty here, until recently, since May or June.
The Second Battalion of the Twelfth Regulars go to-day or to-morrow for Petersburg. The Eleventh Regulars are consequently the only troops left on duty here.
